Jaal released in 1952.
The soundtrack of the film contained
a couple of tracks that could collectively be referred to as Hemant Kumar’s ‘Chandni
Raat’ duology.
My collection already contained one
of them – Yeh Raat Yeh Chandni Phir Kahan.
And the subject of this post was the
second – Chandni Raaten Pyaar Ki Baaten.
While the former was a solo, the
latter [or should I say Lat(a)ter?] was a duet.
He was joined behind the microphone
for it by none other than Ms Mangeshkar.
Sahir Ludhianvi wrote the song, which
was composed by S D Burman.
